Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2018

I just returned from another trip to Disney World's Epcot Food & Wine Festival and I had a fantastic time. I had a full crew in-tow: Kevin, Beth, Sharon, Maureen, Mike and Kyle S. The weather was phenomenal - not too hot, not wet and no hurricane this time. For the past two years when I have gone to Epcot Food & Wine Festival with Kevin, Mike and Maureen, Disney has shut down on the last day of our trips for a hurricane. Not this year. We got lucky (Boy, did we get lucky). Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle a week or two after we got back and completely destroyed Mexico Beach, Florida and badly damaged a great deal of the east side of Panama City Beach, Florida. It was a Category 4 hurricane when it made landfall and was almost a Category 5. After Hurricane Ivan destroyed Perdido Key in 2004, it took over four years for Perdido Key to recover. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those people who's lives have been turned upside-down. WEAR TV has an article on dona

Drinking Around Epcot's World Showcase

This is me waiting on the next monorail flashing my passports for Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival. Do you like my t-shirt? It is perfect for drinking around Epcot's International Showcase. "I'm scared if I stop drinking all at once, the cumulative hangover will kill me." If you go to Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival with a group, get group t-shirts. Get funny t-shirts. I love people stopping me at random to read my shirt and say "I love it." I even get some photos with strangers. Kevin made this shirt and he makes most of the shirts. Thanks Kevin! Japan Pavilion Torii

The Japan Pavilion at Epcot is located towards the rear of World Showcase. On the water in front of the Japan Pavilion is the floating replica torii of Itsukushima Shrine. You can see Spaceship Earth in the background to the right in the photo above. Unlike the original torii of Itsukshima Shrine, there is no low tide where you can walk out to and under this torii, but it is very impressive from the shore and another great photo op spot. Epcot International Food & Wine Photo Ops

Photo ops abound at Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. The one above is located at the main entrance of Epcot just past the entrance gates. That's me on the left; Kevin on the right. Spaceship Earth is in the background. The Eiffel Tower of Cheese is just for Food & Wine. Epcot does a fantastic job at setting up displays all around the park for Food & Wine. Near the rear entrance is another great photo op setup. It is between the rear entrance and the bridge that goes to France. There is nothing iconic behind this one like Spaceship Earth, but it does give you a chance to get closer to the backdrop. Get the photo. You'll love it. The desserts at Epcot's International Food & Wine Festival are over-the-top - especially for the photo ops. These over-sized cakes are near the front entrance. Enter the park, walk past Spaceship Earth, walk around the fountain and they are just before the bridge to the international showcase. This phot

Epcot Food & Wine Country Kiosks

Epcot has kiosks setup all around the world showcase and I sampled just a small portion of all of them. These are a few photos of the country kiosks I sampled: Morocco, Japan, Belgium and Brazil. I did sample many more than these, but I only have these photos. I think my favorite was from Brazil and its pork bellies. If you've never tried Epcot Food & Wine Festival, you can easily make a meal from all of the different kiosks. These are sample servings, but they are plenty for me. And the pricing is not unrealistic at all and the price and size would be good for the rest of our restaurants to adopt. I think we already get too large of food servings as it is. Not wine servings. Just food servings. More wine. Less food. Next Blog Post from Epcot

Mickey Mouse Halloween Pumpkins

These guys line the entrance and streets of Epcot for Halloween. I LOVE these Mickey Mouse Halloween Pumpkins. I may have to get some of them for my house. Next Blog Post from Epcot

World Showcase Hanging Birdhouse

Have you spotted this little bird house in Epcot's World Showcase? It hangs in a garden with plenty of plants and water and is not too far from the main pathway that circles the lagoon, but you do have to go into the garden to see it. You cannot see it from the main pathway. Get a picture of it when you go to Epcot next. Post in the comments section below that you found it. Good luck! Next Blog Post from Epcot
