Epcot Food and Wine Festival 2018

I just returned from another trip to Disney World's Epcot Food & Wine Festival and I had a fantastic time. I had a full crew in-tow: Kevin, Beth, Sharon, Maureen, Mike and Kyle S. The weather was phenomenal - not too hot, not wet and no hurricane this time. For the past two years when I have gone to Epcot Food & Wine Festival with Kevin, Mike and Maureen, Disney has shut down on the last day of our trips for a hurricane. Not this year. We got lucky (Boy, did we get lucky). Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle a week or two after we got back and completely destroyed Mexico Beach, Florida and badly damaged a great deal of the east side of Panama City Beach, Florida. It was a Category 4 hurricane when it made landfall and was almost a Category 5. After Hurricane Ivan destroyed Perdido Key in 2004, it took over four years for Perdido Key to recover. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those people who's lives have been turned upside-down. WEAR TV has an article on donations if you'd like to help (https://weartv.com/news/local/wear-launches-hurricane-michael-recovery-effort-operation-help-our-neighbor). The article links to the Florida Disaster Fund for donations and more in (https://www.floridadisaster.org/info/matthew-recovery/).

Back to Epcot: This trip to Disney included all four (4) parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I worked during the day from the hotel room and then met everyone at the parks as soon as I could wrap up work. I did make it over for an early lunch a couple of days to Epcot (The food kiosks do not open til 11am, but France has a bistro that opens daily at 9am). If you can stay at one of the resorts behind Epcot, it is a leisurely walk through the back entrance of Epcot and over the bridge to France. Here are the resorts near Epcot's rear entrance: Disney's Boardwalk Inn, Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel.
